Bhutan is widely known for its rich hospitality and traditional culture and is one of the highly popular tourist destinations that can be easily travelled from any part of the world. However, there are few things to know before you enter into the land of thunder dragon.

Sustainable Development Fee

Bhutan charges SDF or Sustainable Development Fee from tourists as a part of investment to develop the infrastructure and towards providing new opportunities to its people. Tourists need to pay a sum of 100 dollars as a part of SDF to the government of Bhutan per night and per person. While for the citizens of India the SDF is 1200 per night and per person. The SDF fee is reduced to 50% in case of child below the age of 12 while children below the age of 5 years are exempted from SDF.

Best Time to Visit

Although Bhutan is perfect for tourism throughout the year the spring seasons between the month of March to May and autumn during the month of September to November are regarded as the best time to visit Bhutan. During this time the weather are pleasant and offers the scenic beauty of the country.
